Gilbert is a huge fan of giving romantic gestures, but these gestures always go wrong in some tiny way- the food will start burning, the flowers will be forgotten and get wilt-y, the music will be a song that Matt finds silly, etc. But by hellfire, Matt’s worth the flub-ups if it will mean a perfected technique someday.
Matt, however, is confidant enough of Gilbert’s feelings that he doesn’t need the gestures. He also knows that the only reason Gilbert does this is because he is certain Matt loves him, so Matt doesn’t usually go about making these gestures himself. But when he does, they are so quietly profound and perfect that Gilbert can’t speak.

Neither Matt nor Gilbert feel they deserve such a wonderful partner; neither feels like a country shunted to the side like them should have the other man be so smitten with them.
Gilbert often wears multi-coloured skinny jeans; his favourite being the pink ones because of their brightness and ability to draw attention. All of them compliment his pale hair and skin nicely, and they tend to reflect his mood. This aids Matthew to be completely certain about Gil’s emotions for the day. Matt also thinks that skinny jeans look really sexy on Gilbert.
Francy pants does not approve.
In the case of Fem!Canada with Prussia, France did not approve at first. In his mind, she was still just a baby and as much as he cares for Prussia he could not, as a father, allow it. This pissed her off and she ended up yelling at France. She told him that if he couldn’t trust his friend, then trust her judgement and that she could take care of her own personal life. He couldn’t object.
Before they started dating, Gilbert would urge Matthew to try and see other people. Mainly because Gilbert was scared Matthew would reject him, but also to help build Matt’s confidence.

One time Matthew bought Gilbert a thesaurus so that he had other adjectives to describe himself with. Gilbert used it frequently for a good few weeks, using incredibly obnoxious words in the process, before Ludwig finally took it from him and ripped it apart with his bare hands. And then he just looked at Matthew and was like “Never. Again.”

I have the idea that, trough their lifes togheter, they start giving each other massage when the other one is restless or stressed.
Like most of the time it’s Gil who give one to Mattie after a meeting or a day playing hockey. Matthew become a real pile of goo…until Gilbert decide to tickle him.XD (I love the idea of Matthew being ticklish.XD)
Othen than that Matthew will often Give a massage to Gil when he become restless and have insomnia. Gilbert won’t stop talking and moaning at how great it feel until he slowly nod off.^^

Daily Routine Headcanon
Gilbert is the early riser of the two, only because he has to be. Not having a job, he is the one that helps clean and cook (Matthew has a high-paying job, so he’d rather have Gilbert relax at home and do simple tasks like laundry).
He cooks up pancakes most mornings, with some wurst (the most awesome wurst in the world, according to him). He straightens Matthew’s tie (the blonde isn’t able to tie his own correctly without the other’s help), and after said man goes to work, Gil’s real day begins. He’ll later go out to shop for groceries and buy way too much due to watching cooking shows late at night, and then push a bowl of dry food at Kuma, which the bear will eat (after only a bit of coaxing and maybe a wurst leftover from breakfast).
He’ll then put out seeds for the birds and get to making a simple lunch for he and Alfred, who only works down the street, and is able to take off to go to lunch. When Alfred arrives, sandwiches will be set out on the table, with a bottle of beer. Al will deny the drink every day, and opt for a cola. This leaves Gil with two, which he happily accepts.
They chat about trivial things, mostly, occasionally about their previous arguments and fights over Gilbert’s working husband, who would laugh if he were there. Sometimes, Alfred drones on about pretty women, or handsome men (recently, he has come with a long-lasting obsession with an angry Italian that he has had the pleasure of having join for lunch once or twice).
After Alfred (sometimes Lovino) leave, he’ll go about picking up the kitchen, then cleaning out the food bowls. He starts to cook up dinner, and by the time it’s ready, he has swept the porch and said a hello to his cousin Lily, who lives next door. She’ll wave before noticing her roommate (Gilbert suspects they’re more, but doesn’t push it), Elizaveta has arrived home, and gives the other a grand hug as she always does. Gilbert will smile, and with newfound impatience, finishes off dinner and waits for his wonderful husband to come home.
When he does (a little later than expected), the albino will pull him down for a kiss by the tie (which had been untied, and tied again, as the knot is messy. Matthew will laugh into his lips and then question what he’s done all day, and if he’s been as lazy ‘as always’.
Gilbert will just smile and usher him to the table, uttering something along the lines of, ‘Nothing, really.’
